The Liebster Blog Award

I want to take a few minutes to thank Sanchari for being kind enough to nominate me for this award. This was definitely one of the first awards that I saw floating around here when I first started putting up posts. And it’s an honor to be the recipient of another award. Yes, I know that the awards are given out by others writers (amazing ones at that) in the wordpress community. But just knowing of people who had received awards such as these, I could only hope to be in their shoes one day as a writer that others could relate to. Now about Sanchari, hmm. She has a very creative mind and it shows in her posts. Not only that but you can see it in her work that she features occasionally from post to post. The title of her blog has the word ‘serious’ in it, but the first thing you feel upon reading her posts is that she is a very carefree, laid back person. Now this is just from my own observations, so Sanchari if that is wrong feel free to punch me haha. I know that usually most thank you’s aren’t this long, but I feel that if someone took the time to pick me, out of such an amazing group of writers, for any kind of award, I feel that the least I can do is recognize the person in turn. So there you go Sanchari! Thanks once again :D

I would also like to extend that gratitude to mjthecreator over at her blog Unlost in TranslationShe is a traveler, both in body and mind. From what I have read, she is a person that is intent on finding what makes life worth living. It’s about the experiences you have and the people you meet that shape your views on a life worth living. And that is what I am constantly reminded of every time I stop by. It’s about finding out what kind of person dwells within you. That the choices you make do not define the person you become, but what you do with those choices that add to the multi-facets of our complex inner being. Sometimes, it’s really hard to come up with a response because she is on an intellectual level higher than what I could hope to understand, but I still try anyway ha! :D And most importantly, what I got from reading through her posts is that they are more than just words on a screen. They are a window into someone else’s experience of the same world that we live in. Oh how the world is the same, but viewed through different lenses how different it can also be. So thank you for that nomination MJ. I never forget friends!

Now for the Award:

Liebster is German & means ‘dearest’ or ‘beloved’ but it can also mean ‘favourite’ & the idea of the Liebster award is to bring attention to blogs with less than 200 followers all in the spirit of gathering more connections

  1. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
  2. Reveal your top  picks for the award and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.

11 Questions (for me?)

1. What is your favorite book?

My favorite book of all time (well I guess it would have to be a series then), are the Harry Potter series. Ha! Call me a child, but these were the first books that really transported me to another world as I was growing up. It really helped to cope with the stress of being in the middle of a divorce. I wanted so much to receive a letter to go to Hogwarts when I turned 11 so that I wouldn’t have to deal with the real world. Foolish me huh.

2. Your favorite film?

Favorite film would have to be The Departed. You know I did’t really like Leonardo DiCaprio, but after seeing a lot of his stuff recently, I think he’s a really talented actor. Great Gatsby was pretty good too actually. As was the book.

3. Do you have any nicknames?

None.

4. Do you play any musical instruments?

I used to play the trumpet when I was in high school. But that was really it though. I think if I would have learned the guitar, that would have been nice too…

5. Have you ever had surgery?

No surgeries yet!

6. What’s your favorite food?

Anything really. Being a college kid, food can be rare ha!

7. What are you afraid of?

Failure. My parents have always had high expectations of me and it’s what keeps me going when times get rough. Although, I’m not perfect in any way and my parents are absolutely ok with that. The support they give me is amazing. If they would have just supported each other like that :/

8. What’s your proudest moment?

Graduating from Field Training exactly one year ago! I remember I posted about it, something about being really nervous and stuff. But I came out on top, and it’s one more step closer to being that officer in the AF!

9. Your favorite item of clothing?

My suit. Although, I don’t have too much of a chance to flaunt it haha.

10. Your favorite song?

Tough. My favorite song changes depending on what I’m feeling. At the moment it’s…http://youtu.be/iKdR7rko9mI

11. Favorite TV show?

The Office. I wish I could work at Dunder Mifflin. As a side job of course.

Well, Art of Stumbling, thank you once again for nominating me for the award. I know it’s really late, absolutely, but here it is! I’ve stopped by your blog a few times and the feeling that I get from your writing reminds me of myself (on some points of course!) Just the fact that your writing is able to invoke emotion in the reader shows that you have a talent for everything that is literature. We don’t often hear compliments about our accomplishments, so I thought that I would share that with you. You have reminded me that there is a certain beauty to life, even though we may lose sight of it at some point. Not only that, but that we all have our own stories. Just a few of the reasons that I continue this blog, to see that there are others that share this view. So thank you for that. And thanks again for nominating me! I am going to break the rules and stop here since I have some other posts to start penning! Hope all is well!
